Tickets for WSU Madrigal Dinner on Sale Oct. 20

PULLMAN, Wash. — Tickets will go on sale to the public Monday (Oct. 20) to attend the Twelfth Annual WSU Madrigal Dinner on Dec. 5-6 in the Carey Ballroom of the Compton Union Building.

Tickets are $36 per person, which includes dinner, drink and music. They are available on campus at the CUB front desk or by calling (509) 335-9444.

This year’s dinner begins with a variety of appetizers, including smoked salmon paté, assorted Cougar cheese arrangements, char-grilled garlic beef skewers and spicy Italian sausage spears. A salad of tender baby spinach leaves, spiced walnuts, crumbled Gorgonzola cheese, fresh apple slices and a light vinaigrette dressing precedes the entrée of smoke-roasted pork spare ribs and Washington-grown chicken quarter with cranberry-orange relish. This is accompanied by bulgar wheat pilaf with caramelized pearl onions, red bell peppers and green peas and rustic peasant bread with Italian olives and rosemary and whipped butter. The vegetable is candied carrots with brown sugar and butter and brussel sprouts braised with bacon dressing. The meal concludes with cinnamon raisin bread pudding with a dollop of Devonshire cream, a fresh mint leaf and a sprinkle of nutmeg.  Wine and coffee will also be provided.

If a vegetarian entrée and salad are preferred, guests should indicate their preference when purchasing tickets. University Catering will prepare and serve the dinner.

Entertainment will be provided by the WSU Madrigal Singers, assisted by featured guest artists the WSU Trumpet Ensemble and Celtic harpist Marsha Ramey.  Seating will begin at 6 p.m. both evenings.
