Regents Plan Sept. 19 Meeting on Pullman Campus

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Board of Regents begins its fall semester of meetings Friday (Sept. 19) with a regularly scheduled meeting starting at 9 a.m. in Lighty Student Services Building, Room 405.

Among the action items will be a request for approval to replace turf and remodel the Bailey Brayton Baseball Field. The $1.5 million project will be supported by donated funds.

University officials also will ask regents to approve consulting firms that will provide planning and design services for six WSU projects on the Pullman campus: the Biomedical Sciences Facility, Housing and Dining Master Plan, International Studies/Sciences-Joint Center, Library System Master Plan, Murrow Hall East Wing Renovation and Prototype Suites Housing (around the Rotunda Dinning Hall).  The board also will act on proposals for consultant selections for the Regents Dining Center Renovation; WSU Mount Vernon’s Research and Administration Facility; WSU Prosser’s Multipurpose Building; WSU Vancouver’s campus infrastructure project and the WSU Spokane, College of Nursing, Riverpoint Higher Education Campus project. Also before the regents will be proposals to approve the general contractor/construction manager for the Biotechnology/Life Sciences Building and the policy stating permissible uses of WSU leased lands.

The board also is expected to take action on a proposed 2004 regents meeting schedule. Regents also will hear updates from several university groups and administrators.

Regents committees will meet on Thursday.
