Forum Series Continues on WSU Campus

PULLMAN, Wash. — “The Downfall of the Hussein Regime in Iraq: Its Impact on the Rest of the Middle East and the Bush Administration’s Plan to Transform Iraq” is the topic of the Thursday, April 17, forum set for noon in the Compton Union Building Clevenger Lounge. The program is part of a spring public forum series “America at War.”

The forum will be moderated by Mushtaq Memon, International Programs. Featured faculty speakers will include Marina Tolmacheva, College of Liberal Arts, and Robert Staab, Department of History.

The forum will focus on several questions: Can the United States achieve the transformations in Iraq that the Bush Administration has stated it wants to achieve? Will other western national and the United Nations participate in the reconstruction of Iraq? and How are other Middle Eastern societies likely to respond to the American victory in Iraq?

The public forum is the fourth of a series sponsored by the WSU College of Liberal Arts, Student Affairs and the Provost’s Office.
