WSU Tri-Cities Seeks Interest in PE Refresher Courses

PULLMAN, Wash. — WSU Tri-Cities is conducting a survey to determine how many engineers in the region are interested in taking a refresher course to prepare for the Washington State Professional Engineering (PE) examination.

The spring PE examination will be April 11 in Spokane. Examinations will be given in the following engineering disciplines: NCEES exams – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, NA/ME, Chemical, Environmental, Architectural Engineering, Structural II and Principles & Practice of Land Surveying. State exams will include Forest Engineering, and Land Surveying.

An application (due 12/11/02) and the requirements to take the exam can be downloaded or requested from www.dol.wa.gov/engineers/engexam.htm.

The Fall 2003 PE examination will probably be in October and will be held in theTri-Cities.

Given sufficient interest, WSU will explore offering ten-week refresher courses for specific engineering disciplines starting in January 2003 for the April exam and in July 2003 for the October exam.

If you are interested in a PE refresher course, please contact Paul M. Jackson at paulmichaeljackson@ieee.org regarding your interest in a specific engineering discipline and which date you plan to take the examination.
