WSU Foreign Language Scholarship Form Now Available

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Intensive American Language Center at Washington State University is now receiving applications for the Violet Yates Scholarship for the Study of English.

The scholarship will be awarded in December to a female resident of Whitman, Latah or Nez Perce counties, whose native language is not English. It must be used toward tuition at the Intensive American Language Center at WSU during the spring 2003 semester for the study of English as a second language.

Applications can be picked up at the IALC, located at McAllister Hall, Room 116, on the WSU campus. Deadline for completed applications is Nov. 27. Late applications will not be considered.

The Violet M. Yates Scholarship Fund was established by Mrs. Yates’ family in celebration of her 80th birthday and her lifelong concern for the education of foreign-born women in the Palouse area.
