TRI-CITIES, Wash. — When Columbia Basin College opens its doors for fall quarter Sept. 16, some of those doors will be on the campus of Washington State University Tri-Cities, in north Richland.

In an unprecedented sharing of Tri-Cities higher education facilities, seven CBC courses are being offered on the WSU campus, part of a new initiative making it possible for either school’s students to pursue their education on the other’s campus.

The longer-term goal of the cross campus offerings is to have a joint bachelor’s degree program for Tri-Cities students.

WSU Tri-Cities is also offering courses on the CBC campus this fall term, with a total of five classes in Pasco.

Students are responding to the courses. CBC’s Richland offerings at WSU are expected to enroll as many as 200 students. WSU’s classes in Pasco have an enrollment of about 60.
