Parking violation increases now in effect

If you park in the wrong zone, or forget to acquire your parking permit on time, be prepared. Parking tickets fees went up on July 1. If you don#t have the proper permit, the cost has jumped from $25 to $40.

Parking fine increases are expected to generate an additional $260,000, said John Shaheen, director of parking, transportation and the visitor center.

Not everything is more expensive, however. Campus parking passes now are honored at the Student Recreation Center.
