SPOKANE, Wash. — Kirt Scott, an oncology pharmacist at Sacred Heart Medical Center, received this year’s “Preceptor of the Year” from Washington State University’s College of Pharmacy at the Preceptor Appreciation Dinner held in Spokane May 30.

This recognition is given to a pharmacy preceptor for his or her outstanding contributions to the educational development of future pharmacists by demonstrating high standards of professionalism, ethics and clinical practice.

Scott graduated from Kamiakin High School in Kennewick in 1985 and WSU’s College of Pharmacy in 1990. He then completed a pharmacy residency at Sacred Heart Medical Center in 1991 and oncology residency in San Antonio. Scott has been involved in the training of the students from the College of Pharmacy both at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane and at WSU since 1990.
