Spring commencement schedules, speakers announced

Nearly 1,800 Washington State University students are expected to participate in the 106th annual spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 11, at the Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.

Commencement times and speakers at Beasley include:

• Colleges of Agriculture and Home Economics, Engineering and Architecture, Pharmacy, Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, 8 a.m, speaker Per Pinstrup-Andersen, director general of International Food Policy Research Institute.

• College of Liberal Arts, 11:30 a.m., speaker Sen. Maria Cantwell.

• Colleges of Business and Economics, Education and Nursing, 3 p.m., speaker Provost Robert Bates.

Ceremonies on other campuses include:

• WSU Spokane, Intercollegiate College of Nursing/WSU College of Nursing, 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, Spokane Opera House.

• WSU Tri-Cities, 6 p.m. Friday, May 17, Tri-City Coliseum.

• WSU Vancouver, 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, Vancouver Campus Plaza.

Some 3,200 WSU undergraduates and 350 graduate students from the Pullman campus are expected to receive degrees this spring.
