PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Department of English Visiting Writer Series will host poet and fiction writer Nance Van Winckel as she reads some of her work at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, in Kimbrough Hall Room 101.

The author of three collections of poetry, Van Winckel’s “After a Spell” received the Washington State Governor’s Writing Award in 1999. She also has received two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships in poetry.

Van Winckel is on the Master of Fine Arts Creative Writing faculty at Central Washington University and Vermont College. She is the author of the short fiction novels, “Limited Lifetime Warranty,” “Quake” and “Curtain Creek Farm.”
