WSU Receives Five Awards During CASE District VIII Conference

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University received five awards in a regional professional competition in communication and publishing. Four of the awards are part of WSU student recruitment efforts.

On Feb. 25 in Portland, during the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District VIII Conference, WSU representatives and offices were honored in the 20th annual Juried Awards Competition. The district includes the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.

In electronic media-video:
— A gold award for student recruitment television commercials went to WSU Marketing Communications: Mary Gresch, Herb Delaney, Bob Hubner, Educational Marketing Group and Hamilton Studios.

— A bronze award for student recruitment video went to WSU Marketing Communications: Marilyn Reed, Sharon White, Hugh Imhof, Rance Larsen, Hamilton Studios and Delaney.

In electronic media-interactive multimedia projects, a silver award for student recruitment CD went to WSU Marketing Communications: Deborah Baker, Reed, White, Delaney and Larsen.

In projects-public relations, a silver award for prospective student marketing campaign went to WSU Marketing Communications: The entire Marketing Communications staff, the Office of Admissions, college recruiters and communication officers.

In writing-features and articles, a silver award went to Tim Steury, for his article, “Cataclysm, Light and Passion: How Washington Came to Produce Some of the World’s Greatest Wines,” in Washington State Magazine.
