Carrot Top Show Set For Feb. 15 at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — Comedian Carrot Top, known for his signature red curly hair and unique style of inventive prop comedy, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Washington State University’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.

In his act, Carrot Top digs through several large trunks to showcase the props he creates from ordinary objects. For instance, one prop features a boxing glove with a couple of ears attached. The comedian dubbed it the “Mike Tyson Chewing Toy.” Carrot Top often uses current events as a basis for his material.

Beginning his career at an amateur comedy contest in college, Carrot Top was named “Entertainer of the Year,” and “Comedian of the Year” by the National Association for Campus Activities in 1993. At the 1994 American Comedy Awards, Carrot Top was named “Best Male Stand-Up Comedian” and was voted “Comedian of the Year” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s 1998 Reader Poll.

Carrot Top is a frequent guest on shows such as “The Tonight Show,” “Politically Incorrect” and “The Late Show with David Letterman.” The comedian also has been featured in several movies and has written a book, “Junk in the Trunk…Some Assembly Required.”
