New Gallery Exhibit Features Landscape Watercolors, Oils by Local Artist

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A public reception is planned for Friday, Dec. 7, at the Washington State University Vancouver Student Services gallery for local artist Denise Clark Weston, whose watercolor and oil paintings are on exhibit at the gallery through December. The event is planned for 6-9 p.m.

For more than 30 years, Weston has experimented with a variety of media, including jewelry, bronze casting, printmaking and digital imaging. She is active in local exhibits and competitions and her work is displayed in private and public collections across the nation. In southwest Washington, Weston’s work is represented by Gallery 21 in Vancouver.

This exhibit represents Weston’s fascination with the Northwest. “The changing light of Northwest landscape provides me with unending inspiration for images. I am particularly interested in light and its effect on landscape elements,” she said.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during campus building hours, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Gallery exhibits at WSU Vancouver are coordinated by the Office of Campus Advancement and updated each semester. The gallery is located in the Student Services building at 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave. For more information about the gallery, call 360/546-9600.
