WSU Student Web Site Debuts

PULLMAN, Wash. — Launching this week is the new Washington State University student Web site, offering access to popular online tools and information sites for undergraduate and graduate students.

The URL for the site’s home page is www.wsu.edu/current-students. It also can be accessed directly from the university’s home page at www.wsu.edu.

The page includes quick links to such tools as METRO, InfoNet, My.WSU portal, the A-Z Index, the WSU search engine, phonebook search engine, catalog and time schedule. It also features specialty pages with resources on Academics and Libraries, Homework Help, Activities and Recreation, Careers and Jobs, and Accounts and Finances.

In addition, the page offers changing news and announcements of interest to students plus a link to the Daily Evergreen and the WSU News site.

Based on interviews with current students, Carol Hill, a Web marketing manager in the WSU Office of Marketing Communications, designed the page.

Students are encouraged to set the site as their default browser start page, said Barbara Petura, assistant vice president for university relations and the site’s content partner. “The Web resources students use most are easy to find from this start page.”

This is the third specialized Web site rolled out this year. In early September, the new WSU faculty and staff site made its debut. That URL is www.wsu.edu/faculty-staff. The familiar www.wsu.edu URL is now the home page for the future students site, launched last spring.

Feedback on the student site can be directed to Hill at hillc@wsu.edu and to Petura at petura@wsu.edu.
