WSU Student Recreation Center Named One of Nation’s Top 10

PULLMAN, Wash. — Athletic Business magazine has identified the Washington State University Student Recreation Center as one of the top 10 facilities in the United States.

The SRC received the magazine’s 2001 Facility of Merit Award. The magazine annually gives the award to 10 facilities in the country that set new standards in design and functionality.

The SRC, opened in January, is a 160,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art recreational and fitness center.

The magazine judged facilities in the following categories: colleges/universities, health and wellness, professional facilities, school facilities and public recreation. This year 88 facilities were nominated, including 28 other college/university facilities.

The awards will be presented at a banquet Dec. 7 in Orlando, Fla., at the annual Athletic Business Conference.
