All-Campus Picnic Set Aug. 24 on Grimes Way Field

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s 17th annual All-Campus Picnic will be held 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 on Grimes Way Field behind the Lighty Student Services Building.

Student meals are free, compliments of WSU and Dining Services. The Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund is buying meals for all WSU employees. Students and employees need only show a WSU identification card/Cougar Card. Meal tickets, at $4 each, will be sold at the event for others.

Helping to serve meals will be President V. Lane Rawlins and President’s Cabinet members, including Charlene Jaeger, Student Affairs vice president. Rawlins will deliver comments, and a disc jockey will play music during the picnic.

On the menu are smoked turkey and vegetarian sandwiches, German sausage on a bun, fresh fruit and Greek pasta salads, potato chips, cookies and pop.

Students and others can learn about various WSU organizations and offices during the event at information tables set up on the field.

In case of bad weather, the picnic will be held in the Rotunda, Regents and Wilmer/Davis halls’ dining centers.
