Success Prompts Two Fashion Shows for WSU’s Mom’s Weekend

PULLMAN, Wash. — Success has prompted Washington State University’s College of Agriculture and Home Economics to double sessions of its annual Mom’s Weekend Fashion Show, “Designers Exposed,” on April 21.

Carol Salusso, chair of WSU’s Apparel, Merchandising and Interior Design department, said the show is being performed twice this year — at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Compton Union Building Auditorium — because in previous years organizers had to turn away hundreds of people.

The show will feature about 100 original designs by 17 WSU design students. The programs cost $6 if tickets are purchased in advance from the AMID office or $8 at the door.

Another change for CAHE events on Mom’s Weekend is the popular Hort Club plant sale from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. April 22. The event has moved to Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum. The sale includes both ornamentals and vegetable starter plants grown by WSU students. All proceeds go to the Hort Club scholarship fund.
