Education Professor Wins Web Award

PULLMAN, Wash. — A Web site created by assistant professor Tariq Akmal
of the Washington State University College of Education has been selected by
StudyWeb, an Internet site for teachers’ classroom resources, as one of the
best educational resources on the Web. Akmal’s site was created for his class
in Secondary School Instruction and Content Literacy Methods.

The College of Education’s Web site will now display the prestigious
StudyWeb Academic Excellence Award icon in recognition of that award.

Akmal’s Web site, http://www.educ.wsu.edu/tl/303/lesson_plan.html, includes
a nine-part procedure for teachers to use in developing lesson plans.

Since 1996, StudyWeb has been one of the Internet’s premier sites for
educational resources for students and teachers. More information about the
site is available at http://www.studyweb.com/.
