Take Back the Night Rally and March Scheduled Oct. 19 at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Coalition for Women Students at Washington State University is hosting its annual Take Back the Night rally and march at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 on the WSU campus.

Take Back the Night is an annual event addressing issues of violence towards women. CWS and members of the WSU community come together and show their commitment to the causes of safety and justice by rallying and marching through campus and surrounding neighborhoods, say event organizers. This year’s march will begin in front of Todd Hall on Glenn Terrell Mall and end with a bonfire across Stadium Way from Beasley Coliseum. There will be a short closing ceremony, and counselors will be on hand for anyone with personal questions or concerns.

All organizations are encouraged to attend and contribute to Take Back the Night by creating banners, signs, or creating a chant, and also by taking a pledge of non-violence.

Questions about CWS can be directed to members at 509/335-4386, or Alice Coil at 509/335-6849.
