Solstice Wind Quintet Plans Oct. 14 Concert

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Solstice Wind Quintet, featuring faculty members
from the Washington State University School of Music and Theatre Arts, will
perform free for the public in WSU’s Bryan Hall Auditorium on Thursday, Oct.
12.

The quintet includes Ann Yasinitsky, flute; Gary Plowman, oboe; James
Schoepflin, clarinet; Susan Hess, bassoon; Roger Logan, horn; and guest
pianist Gerald Berthiaume.

The 8 p.m. program will range from traditional chamber music by Mozart to
20th-century masterpieces. Selections will include “Partita for Wind Quintet,”
by Irving Fine; “Pastorale,” by Persichetti; “March,” by John Barrows; and
“Quintet K 452 for Winds and Piano,” by W.A. Mozart.

In addition to teaching at WSU, quintet members travel throughout the
Northwest appearing at schools and performing formal concerts.
