Music Around the World Series Planned at WSU

PULLMAN, Wash. — The first of two concerts in July, as part of the
Washington State University Summer Recreation Committee’s Music from
Around the World series, is planned for July 18.

Northwest Folklife Festival performer Kiran Ahluwalia and her trio will present
a 7:30 p.m. program at Kimbrough Concert Hall. The performance will include
traditional Indian and Pakistani vocal music.

Nashville songwriter Hugh Moffatt will perform at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 20,
at Bryan Hall Auditorium. Moffatt has written hits for Dolly Parton, Ronnie
Milsap and Johnny Rodriguez. His songs have been recorded by Alabama,
Jerry Lee Lewis, Merle Haggard and many others.

The free concert series is cosponsored by the school of music and theatre arts.
