WSU Regents to Meet Feb. 17, Expected to Take Action on New President

PULLMAN, Wash. — The Washington State University Board of Regents is
expected to choose the university’s next president on Feb.17. The final
candidate for the position is V. Lane Rawlins, currently president at the
University of Memphis.

The regents will meet in executive session at 9:15 a.m. to discuss the
qualifications of the presidential candidate. An open session will follow
immediately, and the board may take official action regarding the presidency.

If the regents take action appointing Rawlins as president, there will be a news
conference at approximately 3 p.m. in Murrow 53 on the Pullman campus. The
session will be available to reporters outside Pullman via satellite and at
WHETS facilities.
