PULLMAN, Wash. — Nearly 50 Washington State University students will be
in Olympia Feb. 12 for “Coug Day at the Capitol” and the start of a three-day
“course” about the state’s political process.

Hosted by the Associated Students of Washington State University and the
Washington Student Lobby, students will attend workshops on legislative
issues, critique floor discussions, and meet with state representatives and
senators. A dinner with state representatives and possibly the governor is also
planned.

“This event has proven to be one of the greatest opportunities for students to
learn about the legislative process as well as educate our legislators on our
students,” says Patrick McAdams, WSL president and ASWSU vice
president.

Applications are available for students interested in attending the event at the
ASWSU offices, Compton Union Building, Room 325.

Campus organizations, departments or other companies that would like to
sponsor Coug Day at the Capitol can make contributions through Friday,
Feb. 4, at CUB 325, or by calling 509/335-9676.
