PULLMAN, Wash. — Former Washington State University Regent Robert M. “Mac” Crow
of Oakesdale received the WSU Alumni Achievement Award today at the Alumni Association
fall board of directors meeting in the Lewis Alumni Centre.
He was recognized for “outstanding leadership and assistance to WSU as a superb regent,
proud alumnus, successful Cougar Club president and loyal friend.”
Crow served on the Board of Regents from 1985-1997, including two terms as president. He
also is a past president of the Whitman County Cougar Club and a Life Member of the WSU
Alumni Association.
The longtime wheat rancher served as president of both the Whitman County Wheat
Growers and the Oakesdale Wheat Growers. He also has been a member of the Whitman County
Crop Improvement Board.
The 1951 WSU graduate in agriculture was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He
also was tapped for membership in Phi Kappa Phi, a scholastic honorary, and Alpha Zeta, an
agriculture honor society.
Crow’s community service includes serving as director of the Oakesdale School Board, vice
president of the Washington State School Directors Association and chairman of the 5th
Congressional District Agricultural Advisory Board. He also served on the Whitman County
Mental Health Board and the Pine Creek Soil Conservation District.
