SEATTLE, Wash. — Washington State University scientists will participate in a debate on the pros and cons of genetically-modified foods at a meeting of the Puget Sound Science Writers Association. The panel discussion will take place at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the Richard Hugo House, 1634 11th Ave., Seattle.
Genetically-modified foods are becoming one of the most contentious issues in agricultural trade worldwide and will be a topic of debate at the 1999 World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in Seattle this fall.
