WSU Group to Help Turkish Earthquake Victims

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Turkish Interest Group is starting a
fund-raising drive to help victims of last week’s devastating earthquake.
The group includes international students and others with ties to Turkey.
Organizer Baris (Barr) Karagozlu, an electrical engineering senior and TIG president, says the
group hopes to place donation “piggy banks” at businesses in the community and on campus.
In addition, the TIG will accept donations.
Karagozlu says the money collected will be sent to the American/International Red Cross for
relief efforts after about two weeks of fund raising.
