Royer to Serve as Vice President for Business Affairs

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University has appointed long-time university
executive Greg Royer to a two-year term as vice president for business affairs, effective
immediately.
The position opened after the resignation of Samuel Kindred on July 30.
During his 29-year career with WSU, Royer has held leadership roles in facilities operations
as well as operating and capital budget development and management. Royer was appointed
assistant provost for budget and planning in 1986. A long-time member of the university’s
executive committee, he currently is executive director of budget and planning, reporting to the
president.
President Samuel Smith expressed great confidence in Royer. “Greg is an experienced, highly
capable administrator. He will bring strong leadership skills to the position during the next two
years while we make the transition to a new presidency,” said Smith.
Royer is a native of Prosser and has a degree in business administration from WSU.
