Children Needed for Summer Palace Musical

PULLMAN, Wash. — Children 6 years and older are needed for the cast of Washington State University’s Summer Palace musical, “The Wizard of Oz.”
Auditions are set for 10 a.m.-noon on June 5 and 1:30-4 p.m. on June 6 in the Daggy Hall theaters on the WSU campus. Free parking is available in the Daggy Hall parking structure on the weekend. Those who plan to audition should meet in the Daggy Hall second floor lobby.
During a one-hour audition, each child will read from the play, follow a few dance steps and sing part of a song he or she has prepared in advance.
“The Wizard of Oz” will be performed July 22-24 and 29-31. Rehearsals are planned for Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings starting July 8 and evenings during performance weeks.
All youth cast members will be expected to enroll in the Summer Palace Youth Theatre Workshop set for July 5-9 and 12-16 from 10-11:30 a.m. daily. Tuition for the two-week workshop is $25.
