PULLMAN, Wash. — Anne Harrington, coordinator, nonproliferation/science cooperation programs
of the Political-Military Affairs Bureau of the U.S. State Department, will replace Steve Aoki in several
Palouse area appearances next week.
Aoki, a physicist responsible for weapons nonproliferation programs for the State Department, is on
assignment and unable to participate in programs at Washington State University and the University of
Idaho.
Harrington will join Mark Hambley, a career diplomat, in a Foley Institute policy forum at WSU
Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 3:30 p.m. in Room 212 of the Compton Union Building.
The State Department representatives will lead a discussion of foreign policy issues at a town hall
meeting Monday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. in the SUB Ballroom on the UI campus. They will also speak to
classes on both campuses.
