PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University President Sam Smith will present a State of the
University Address Monday, Oct. 19.
The president will address the university priorities, including faculty salaries, enrollment
management, two research initiatives and WSU’s direction during the next 3-5 years, including the Spokane
expansion.
For those who plan to attend the address, a continental breakfast will be served from 7:30-8 a.m.
Smith will begin his remarks from the Compton Union Building Ballroom at 8 a.m. A question-and-answer
time is planned from 8:30-8:50 a.m.
The talk will be broadcast live via WHETS to the branch campuses. Locations are SIRTI Classroom
300 in Spokane, ICNE 214, WSU Tri-Cities 256W and WSU Vancouver CL117. The Q&A portion will not
be interactive with the branches.
A tape of the proceedings will be available for viewing in the libraries of each of the branch
campuses and at Media Materials Services at Holland Library. It will also be later aired on Cable 8 and
KWSU’s “WSU Presents.” WSU extended units may request tapes of the presentation from the President’s
Office by e-mailing kardongw@wsu.edu.
