15th Annual Local “Winefest” Features 25 Wineries

PULLMAN, Wash. — Twenty-five area wineries will be represented at the 15th Annual “Winefest” in two seatings Friday evening, Oct. 30, at the Ridge Pointe Community Clubhouse in Pullman. The event is a fundraiser for, and produced by, members of Sigma Iota, the largest student club in Hotel & Restaurant Administration at Washington State University.
“The vintners will bring their finest and new wines for tasting, and the Old Spaghetti Factory in Spokane will once again produce a wonderful Italian buffet for guests,” says hospitality major and event chairman Jennifer Bass, a senior from Spokane. “We promise a great evening of friends, food and fun. Winefest has become a fall tradition on the Palouse, and we hope more people than ever will attend this year’s event.”
Tickets for the 5-7 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. sessions cost $20. Only those ages 21 and older can attend the event. Courtesy van transportation will be provided every 15 minutes by Sigma Iota to and from the clubhouse, with pickup/dropoff points at the CUB turnaround on the WSU campus, and at the Professional Mall on Bishop Blvd. The clubhouse, with limited parking, is located at 1402 SE Fancy Free Drive, off Bishop Blvd. at Ridgepoint.
