Compton Union Gallery Presents Fall Art Series

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University’s Compton Union Gallery opens its fall season with a graphic art sale from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Aug. 24-28 in the CUB’s Clevenger Lounge. Sale proceeds will support the gallery’s activities.
The gallery exhibits start Aug. 24 with “Back in the USSR,” photographs from Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia and Russia (1982-1998). The exhibit by Larry Meinert continues through Sept. 11.
On Sept. 14-Oct. 2, “Queen Bee,” mixed-media sculpture by Glenn Grishkoff, can be viewed in the gallery. A brush-making demonstration is planned for noon Sept. 23.
Contemporary Indian figural paintings by Vasant Ghodke will be on exhibit Oct. 5-23.
Starting Oct. 26, the Outdoor Photography Exhibit, co-sponsored by the ASWSU Outdoor Recreation Center, is planned for the gallery. It continues through Nov. 13.
On Nov. 16-Dec. 11, the CUB Gallery will feature paintings and sculptures by Val Carter.
The gallery is adjacent to the CUB Auditorium lobby. Its regular hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The gallery is open home football weekends, but closes for university holidays and Thanksgiving break.
