CWU Professor Wins WSU Alumni Award

PULLMAN, Wash. — Frank Carlson, Central Washington University education professor and director of the CWU Summer Session, was awarded the 1998 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Washington State University College of Education Alumni Association, announced association president Steve Rasmussen.
Carlson received his doctorate in education from WSU in 1968 and began working for CWU in 1967. He began his educational career as a teacher in Iowa in 1957.
“Dr. Carlson has given more than 40 years to education and is an outstanding selection for our distinguished alumnus award,” Rasmussen said.
The award will be presented at the fall meeting of the alumni association at Pullman in October, Rasmussen added. The award is given annually to WSU education alumni who have made, or are making, an outstanding contribution in the state of Washington and/or to the nation.
