WSU Hires New Beasley Coliseum Director

PULLMAN, Wash. — Joseph Kerr, general manager of the Florence, Ore., Events Center, will become the new director of Washington State University’s Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum effective June 1.
Kerr succeeds James Crow, who retired recently from the university after serving as coliseum director since its opening in 1973.
A 1981 graduate in technical theater from Southern Illinois University, Kerr held several positions at the Lawlor Events Center at the University of Nevada at Reno from 1985-94, including more than three years as associate director. The Lawlor Center is a 12,500-seat arena with 11,000 feet of meeting facilities. Before moving to Florence in 1995, he was general manager of Discovery Promotions/The Ticket Station in Reno.
He is a member of the International Association of Assembly Managers and the Society of Government Meeting Professionals.
“We are excited about Joe joining the excellent team already in place at the coliseum, and believe he has the skills and experience to move the facility into the next century,” said Marcia Garrett, executive assistant to the vice president of Extended University Affairs.
