Reception to WSU Honor Frosh Scholars

PULLMAN, Wash. — The annual Washington State University Freshmen Scholars Reception is set for March 9 at Lewis Alumni Centre.
The event, planned for 6-7:30 p.m., will recognize WSU freshmen who began college studies during the fall semester and earned at least a 3.5 gpa for the term.
“This event brings WSU’s outstanding freshmen scholars together with many of our faculty and administrators,” explained Kathy Law of Pullman, chair of the event organized by WSU’s chapter of Mortar Board Senior Honor Society. “We believe that freshmen should be recognized for outstanding academic achievement during their first semester of college work.”
The reception is co-sponsored by the WSU Parents Program. Speaker for the evening will be University Honors Program director Jane Lawrence. President Samuel Smith also will make comments and present each scholar with a certificate. Invitations were sent recently to the freshmen scholars. Those eligible who have not received the reception information can contact Mortar Board adviser Sue Hinz, 509/335-3583.
