WSU Pharmacy Prof Recognized

PULLMAN, Wash.–R. Keith Campbell, a member of the Washington State University pharmacy faculty for 29 years, is one of four diabetes experts in the U.S. to be recognized with a Boehringer Mannheim/The Zitter Group “Diabetes Disease Management Leadership Award” for his impact on the care of diabetes patients.
Campbell also has received a national Eagles Lodge Research Award of $5,000 to improve the identification of the 8 million Americans who do not know they have diabetes. Campbell was the only scientist in Washington whose grant proposal was selected for funding.
In addition to his awards, Campbell has also been named a consultant to the endocrine branch of the federal Food and Drug Administration. He will provide expert advice to the FDA regarding medications that are under consideration for the treatment of diabetes and other endocrine diseases in humans.
