Wine tasting funds plant science grad student fellowship

PULLMAN, Wash. – An annual wine tasting/silent auction fundraiser to support Washington State University graduate students will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Merry Cellars Winery in downtown Pullman.
 
The Dr. Virginia Lee "Change the World" Fellowship funds grad students working to improve the quality of life through advancements in plant science. Lee was a second year graduate student when she was diagnosed with cancer. She died four months later, after receiving a doctorate degree from WSU.

 
Tickets cost $35 ($25 with student ID) if purchased before the event or $45 ($35) at the door. They can be purchased from Kimberly Cotton, cottonkl@wsu.edu or 206-276-5380, Gracen Smith, gracen.smith@email.wsu.edu, or Reuben Tayengwa, reuben.tayengwa@email.wsu.edu.
 
The cost includes a glass of wine, hors d'oeuvres and admission to the silent auction. All proceeds from ticket sales, wine sales and the auction will go to the fellowship.
