Alumnus named dean at St. Cloud University

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University alumnus Mark Springer has been appointed dean of the College of Liberal Arts at St. Cloud University after serving in the position on an interim basis for more than a year.
 
Springer graduated from WSU with bachelor’s degrees in music education and music history and theory in 1990. He went on to earn his master’s and doctorate in trombone performance from the University of Wisconsin.
 
Springer has been with St. Cloud University for 16 years and has served as the chair of the music department and interim associate dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities. His interim position for the College of Liberal Arts began in 2010 upon the death of Dean Todd DeVriese.
