By Melissa O'Neil Perdue, WSU Tri-Cities

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Tri-Cities graduates of the Washington State University College of Nursing will be recognized at Convocation, a special pinning and candlelight ceremony, at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at City Church, 4624 W. 10th Ave., Kennewick. The ceremony is open to the public.

Convocation is a thoughtful occasion where faculty, staff, medical professionals and students’ family members celebrate the hard work and special relationships of the spring 2012 graduating class.

Speakers will include Chancellor Vicky Carwein, who holds a doctorate of nursing science, and WSU Tri-Cities nursing instructors and students. Convocation is sponsored by the Crimson Scrubs student nursing club and will be followed by a reception sponsored by Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

WSU Tri-Cities is located along the scenic Columbia River in Richland, Wash. Established in 1989 with upper division and graduate programs, WSU Tri-Cities expanded in 2007 to a four-year undergraduate campus offering 18 bachelor’s, 10 master’s and six doctoral degrees.
