PULLMAN, Wash. – A giant sequoia was planted last Thursday in the Alumni Arboretum by the Horticulture Club in honor of the 2012 graduating seniors.
The tree was donated by the club and is part of the annual tradition which began in 1985 with former Washington State University President Sam Smith. A committee that oversees the arboretum selects the tree variety.
