Wine tasting funds plant science grad student fellowship

PULLMAN, Wash. – An annual wine tasting/silent auction fundraiser to support Washington State University graduate students will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Merry Cellars Winery in the Pullman industrial park on the north edge of town. Find a map here.
 
The Dr. Virginia Lee "Change the World" Fellowship funds grad students working to improve the quality of life through advancements in plant science. Lee was a second year graduate student when she was diagnosed with cancer. She died four months later, after receiving a doctorate degree from WSU.

 
Tickets cost $35 ($25 with student ID) if purchased before the event or $45 ($35) at the door. They can be purchased from Kimberly Cotton, cottonkl@wsu.edu or 206-276-5380, Gracen Smith, gracen.smith@email.wsu.edu, or Reuben Tayengwa, reuben.tayengwa@email.wsu.edu.
 
The cost includes a glass of wine, hors d'oeuvres and admission to the silent auction. All proceeds from ticket sales, wine sales and the auction will go to the fellowship.
