Former employees give back to WSU Extension

PULLMAN, Wash. – Lawrence Brown and his wife Betty served Washington State University Extension for 38 years, and now are ready for some "pay-back.” The Browns have established an endowment to help support professional development of Extension educators. 
 
"Truly, we owe the life that we’ve had together, the life that has been so richly blessed, to the profession of WSU Extension service,” said Lawrence Brown, former Extension county director. 
 
Lawrence was born in 1918 and began attending WSU, then Washington State College, in 1936. He graduated in 1941 with a degree in animal sciences and accepted an assistant county extension agent position. He married Betty, a graduate of Colorado State University, the same year.
