Workshop focuses on flower growing

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – Washington State University and the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market will hold a Specialty Cut Flower Growers School, Feb. 24 and Feb. 25 at Sakuma Auditorium in Mt. Vernon. The two-day workshop will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in WSU’s Northwestern Washington Research and Extension Center. Registration is $125 per person, which includes lunch both days and a workbook with resources and technical information. Space is limited.
The workshop will focus on sustainable flower growing techniques for the Pacific Northwest and will feature Diane Szukovathy of Jello Mold Farm, Vivian Larson of Everyday Flowers and Joe Schmidt of Fair Field Flowers. The class is aimed toward beginning to intermediate growers.

- Quality postharvest care
