PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University Writing Center will be open exclusively to faculty members 4-5 p.m. Monday-Thursday in Smith CUE 403 to help them build writing into their courses during spring semester.
"By helping our faculty develop more effective writing assignments in their courses, we meet our initiative to advance students’ writing,” said Lisa Johnson, Writing Program co-director. "We see ourselves as much a faculty support enterprise as a student support unit.”
Meanwhile, peer tutors will be available for free to assist undergraduate walk-in students with their writing in Smith CUE 403 during the following hours:
Mondays 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Tuesdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Wednesdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Thursdays 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Fridays 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Sundays 6-8 p.m.
The WSU Writing Center is part of the University College Writing Program. The center participates in a 24/7 online tutoring consortium, eTutoring.org, that is available at no cost to WSU students. The program also offers several small-group writing courses.
The Graduate and Professional Writing Center will serve students in CUE 403 by appointment, with some walk-in hours that are yet to be determined.
