Export seminar helps businesses build markets

SPOKANE, Wash - Washington small to medium business enterprises looking to generate sales to new markets will benefit from a program Oct. 5-7 offered by the Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and International Trade Alliance (ITA). Washington State University is a partner in the SBDC.
Only Washington business enterprises and resident entrepreneurs may attend. Service providers and consultants may be considered if space is available. Priority will be given to companies ready to start or grow their export capability.
The seminar will deliver primary information and resources needed to understand how to export products or services. It will cover: how to find an international market and distribute a product, how to advertise and sell to a different culture, how to finance and make a profit, how to obtain certifications and learn about regulations, and how to get help through the process.
Participants will be matched with a mentor from a successful exporting company and will be introduced to the export services of the SBDC.
Pre-registration is required for the seminar, which will be held in room 432 at Innovate Washington, 665 N. Riverpoint Blvd., Spokane. It is free to Washington small to medium business enterprises primed to sell to a new market. Lunch is included Wednesday and Thursday.
