Grad offered position in California university

SAN FRANCISCO – Leslie Wong, president of Northern Michigan University and a Washington State University alumnus, was announced the president of San Francisco State University on Thursday. He was offered the position after President Robert Corrigan retired earlier this year.
 
Wong graduated from WSU in 1986 with his Ph.D. in educational psychology and was appointed president of Northern Michigan University in 2004. He will assume his position at San Francisco State University on Aug. 1.

"I am pleased and honored to be chosen as the next president of San Francisco State, and look forward to working closely with students, faculty, and staff," Wong said in a statement.
