March 6: Music for jazz combos animates faculty concert

PULLMAN, Wash. – A jazz journey of contemporary jazz duos, trios and quartets will be led by Washington State University music faculty Dave Snider, on string and electric, and Brian Ward, on piano and keyboard, at 8 p.m. Friday, March 6, in Kimbrough Hall as part of the Faculty Artist Series.

Tickets will be for sale in the lobby 30 minutes before the concert. They are free to WSU students with ID. The cost is $10 general admission and $5 for non-WSU students and those age 60+.

On the program, Ward composed “Skatology,” and arranged “Sammy Walked In,” “People Make the World Go Round” and “Captain Marvel.” Snider arranged “Strasbourg St.,” “Donna Lee,” “Don’t Get Sassy,” “Spain” and “Blue Bossa.”

Guest performers will include Gregory Yasinitsky on tenor saxophone, David Ward on drums and Brad Ard on guitar.
