Feb. 17: Jazz faculty combo in concert

fac-art-series-220PULLMAN, Wash. – Jazz Northwest will present traditional jazz from the 1960s to the fusion sounds of the 21st century at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, in Kimbrough Concert Hall as part of the Faculty Artist Series at Washington State University.

Tickets will be for sale in the lobby 30 minutes before the concert. They are free to WSU students with ID. The cost is $10 general admission and $5 for non-WSU students and those age 60+.

Arrangements especially for “A Jazz Journey: Past, Present, and Future” by members of the WSU faculty combo include “Maiden Voyage” by Herbie Hancock, “Spain” by Chick Corea, “My Shining Hour” by Harold Arlen and “Strasbourg-St. Denis” by Roy Hargrove.

Jazz Northwest is directed by Frederick “Dave” Snider, electric and string bass. Other members are Greg Yasinitsky, saxophones; David Turnbull, trumpet and flumpet; David Jarvis, drums; Dave Hagelganz, tenor saxophone; Brian Ward, organ and piano; and Brad Ard, guitars.
