Jan. 23: Guest pianist plays classical and jazz

Delony-80PULLMAN, Wash. – Classical and jazz selections will be performed by pianist Willis Delony in a free, public guest recital at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at Kimbrough Hall, Washington State University.

“Willis is one of the finest pianists in the country with the unique ability to cross effortlessly between the classical and jazz worlds,” said Greg Yasinitsky, director of the WSU School of Music.

Delony will present selections from his latest CD recording, “Out of Character: Classical and Jazz Connections III.” He has performed around the world – including France, Germany, Brazil and Mexico – along with regular performances throughout the U.S.

He is the Virginia Martin Howard Professor of Piano and Professor of Jazz Studies at Louisiana State University.
