March 11: Trumpet headlines with faculty ensembles

Wurst-60PULLMAN, Wash. – A concert starring the trumpet in mixed chamber ensembles will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University. It is part of the Faculty Artist Series; proceeds benefit the School of Music scholarship fund.

Tickets will be available in the lobby 30 minutes before the concert. They are free to WSU students with ID. They cost $10 general admission and $5 for non-WSU students and those age 60+.

The program will open with WSU music instructor Chris Wurst on trumpet and Elena Panchenko on piano performing a baroque concerto and a 20th century concerto. Following a brief intermission, Wurst will be joined by several colleagues from the WSU School of Music on four pieces displaying the trumpet’s abilities and roles within mixed chamber ensemble settings.
